Food Safety

The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that in industrialised countries, approximately 30% of the population suffers from food poisoning each year*.
While in some cases food borne illnesses cause unpleasant symptoms and a few days off work, in others they can lead to death and long-term illnesses such as Reiter’s Syndrome and Guillane-Barrie syndrome.

What is the green ‘Five Ticks’ StandardsMark?

Suppliers of food products display the green "Five Ticks" StandardsMark to show that their systems have been independently tested and meet the relevant national or international standards.
To date, the StandardsMark does not appear directly on food products.

How do food suppliers gain a green ‘Five Ticks’ StandardsMark?

SAI Global assesses food suppliers on your behalf and provides independent assurance that their products meet the Australian and international standards.
SAI Global also provides ongoing monitoring of food suppliers to ensure that their manufacturing processes and products continue to be safe and of a high standard.
